Hallelujah! At last, the sleepless nights and the infinite paperworks are over (for the mean time) and it’s time to take a break from those toxic people and hectic schedule every morning. It’s payback time! You get to sleep all day, pig-out and feel bloated, sleep all day again, take a trip to a beach or resort with family & friends, and do whatever the hell you want.
Last summer, I doubted that I would be able to enjoy just a month or two of my summer. But, clearly, it’s not the months that count. It’s the summer vacation. It’s the things you do in a short span of time.
When April begins, you just magically feel the adrenaline rushing through your veins. It’s like you’re relieved and saved by the bell that beckoned you that school is finally over. From April fools day ’til the end of summer, you should have planned out everything in between already. Because few months aren’t enough to let yourself engage in another set of months for school, right? So better put yourself into action and let your summer dreams begin. Although, if you haven’t plotted your fantastic summer getaway and creative plans then fret no more because here are 7 tips to get your summer rolling.
No more ditching.
I know your plans have been ditched more than a hundred times by your friends or by your partner. But this time let’s make it real. Figuring out what to do this summer is only half the battle. The hard part is whether you can make your work done without any deadline. How? Easy! You may rest a little for weeks when summer has just started but it’s good to set plans & schedule, and consistently have a check on it. Just make a bucket list and put it all in your planner (if you don’t have a planner a notebook would do). If you would like to set up your routine everyday then put it on your planner as well.
Don’t forget to set up your goals for this summer. If you have a bucket list then that’s better. Make a checklist of your goals as well and check on it everyday. But ALWAYS REMEMBER! Don’t stress yourself out. Summer is the time where we should be relaxing and enjoying the 80 degrees temp.
Read. Read………. (and wait for it)…Read.
Although, you were so stressed on reading a hundred pages for the past months for your homework or quiz, this time would be different. There won’t be any due date when to finish the selection or a certain novel. There’s no specific genre (prolly a boring one lol) assigned to you. And better yet, you get to choose what you want to read. This is one way to spend your leisure time and break free from social media. Find a book that fits you and your summer nights.
Netflix & chill.
As you would all tweet & snap “Netflix & chill (with shades-on emoji)”. Yeah, what’s better than sitting on the couch while eating popcorn and watching films? As blandly it could get, it doesn’t mean our summer must be all about Netflix. I just mean go watch films, have a movie marathon with your cousins & siblings, and start a TV series to watch and get addicted to. You’ll find your summer more interesting than sleeping on your bed 24 hours.
Take non-academic classes or workshops.
Some prefers staying indoors. On the other hand, most people would like to socialize outside. Maybe it’s because they don’t want to hear their mothers’ limitless exhortations (LOL). Kidding aside, if you’re taking a non-academic class or signing up workshops you get to hit two birds in one stone. You don’t just improve your skills and enjoy what you are doing, you get to meet new friends to hangout with. Doesn’t that make you friendly?
Find yourself a hobby.
Whether you’re a musician, an artist, dancer, or whatnot it’s time to fully flaunt what you’ve been dying to show. Maybe you haven’t paid attention to what you’re good at the whole school year, but this is the time. If you love to cook, take some classes about it. If you’re up for fun, why not be the cook you’ve always wanted to be at home and do some culinary experiments lol. Just be sure to take safety precautions. If you haven’t found out what you’re really good at then, just like what I said, it’s the perfect time for you to rediscover yourself. Try something new. Go out with friends and have some sport games every morning. Take yourself somewhere you haven’t gone to.
Get in shape.
Of course, posting shameless photos of you showing off your summer body and beach bums will always be part of everyone’s summer. And you will take any chances to strike for the perfect pose with a perfect body. Achieving a fit body is done on a regular basis. A simple routine every morning is a head-start for you to be physically fit.
This may not seem ‘productive’ at all but travelling is a great way to satisfy your sixth sense that tells you to “We have a diem to carpe.” This is like the best part of summer. New places. New people. More photographs. More memories. You’ll be able to enter a new culture you haven’t seen before. A drink is like a travel that will quench your thirst. When you travel you feel like you’ve reached ¾ of your summer goals. It’s the most satisfying thing to do in summer. It just gives you the-great-outdoors feels and fresh aura.
